Indeed, 1978 was a great year. The year of the blizzard in the Midwest which sent us cuddling indoors for almost a week. The year of this Buddy Rich appearance, obviously. And the year a sweet little boy was born to a couple in Dayton, Ohio. Yes, a really great year.
We saw Buddy Rich in concert at my college in the early 70s - I'm dating myself now, I know. It was the first time I ever thought maybe playing the drums was more than just banging away!
